Instructions: This is a continuation from last week. All
notes should be transferred from this document to your notebook which will be
checked next class.
Basket
weave- is a variation of
the plain weave. This type of weave has two or more wrap threads interlaced as
a unit with two or more weft yarns. It can be a 2x2 or 3x3 or more.

Examples
of fabric made by the basket weave: oxford cloth used for making men shirts
Satin
weave- is a type of weave
in which yarns float or pass over several other yarns. The exposed yarns on the
surface of the fabric cause the fabric to have a shiny appearance.

Examples
of fabric made from satin weave are crepe back satin and bridal satin.
Pile
weave- consist of extra
set of yarns interlaced in such a manner to produce loops on the surface of the
fabric. The loops may be cut or left uncut.
Examples of fabric made by pile weave are velvet corduroy
and toweling
